Thanks guys. His pad is cut but the worse cut is between his toes. The skin is nice and pink And looks like a clean cut Just trying to avoid the vet bill if I can.
As Reuben posted, I had this come up recently.
What worked best for me was some "Cut Heal" that I got at Tractor Supply.
Just make sure the pad is clean and spray the cut heal on twice at day at first then you can go once a day after a few days. Should heal up in a week or so.
My dog wore both his front pads completely off so I put him in small kennel inside for the first three days until he could walk without tip toeing. I then moved him outside and continued the cut heal twice a day for 2 more days and then two days of only putting it on once a day.
He's doing good now and I'm going to hunt him again this week. Figure 7-10 days off for recovery.
Good luck.
