I’ve used my dogtra for a year and some change, only trouble I’ve had Is the light that blinks quit working, no big deal ! It’s been flawless for me . Now I’m not gonna sale my alpha , but the dogtra is a really nice system as long as you use a decent smart phone and a otter box Is a wise investment too lol
I think I've used my Dogtra for a couple years now. No issues. Works really well.

No, it would not. The only thing cell phone coverage does is provide data for the viewing using a google maps. If it is important to have a good map (it is for me) you can download the map ahead of time and use that downloaded information instead of cell phone service. Really easy to to.
But the tracking works regardless of cell phone service.
