Hard on a man

I’m trying to hunt once or twice during the week, and it’s hard on a working man! It’s a 30 minutes drive before I can turn dog loose & it doesn’t get dark until 8:00 , make a few drops , 30 minutes drive back home , and get up for work at 4:30 am!
Getting dark at 4:30 pm is much easier lol

I with you on that. I got a 30 minute drive also. I hate when the time changes back in the spring. Only good for grass cutters and golfers. My hunting buddy said it best about the time changing, " Only a white man would cut off the bottom of a blanket and sew to the top thinking he has a longer blanket"

That wouldn’t be good when you’ve got to be at work at 6:00am lol

How old are you? When I was younger I could coonhunt all night and then deer hunt all day. Not anymore, and 5:00am comes too fast when I get in bed at 11:00pm.

I'm retired, 71 years old. If I don't get in bed till midnight or later I will probably sleep till 7:30. Hey why not? I'm retired. Oh I said that already lol.

I worked 2nd shift (4-12) for 20 years. Hunt til daylight still get lots of sleep before work....rinse and repeat...5-6 nights a week and gone to a hunt somewhere most every weekend. Always said I wouldn't have made much of a coon hunter if I had a normal day job lol.

I work 2nd (3-11) I choose this shift because I can hunt more ! I typically hunt til 3-4 , and my 18 month old daughter sees that I’m up by 9 to play lol and the hunting is always better in the 2nd half of the night , even during winter months .

I always figure a man that let a job interfere with his coon hunting ain’t much of a coon hunter. Lol

That it is rough I work 4 10 hr days n up @4:45 am I still hunt every other night every body makes fun of me for looking like a zombie only getting 4 hrs of sleep a night.... “I’m here it’s half the battle” is what I say

I thought I was 'tuff-e-nuff' until I got married and bought a new house. Now on top of my day job, I'm a general contractor/coonhunter in all my free time. Sure is rough on a body

I got the best coonhunter gig I think possible. Work away from home about month at time and gone about 4 or 5 months a year total. So when im home I hunt almost every night and hunt as late as I want to. Only bad part which to me isn't that bad is work mostly threw winter and home threw summer.
