HTX hunt

Do to the new 2020 rule change that a hound does not have to open while trailing but has to be struck before treed how does that effect the rule on HTX certification beings it states that you must have a open trailing dog to earn the title????

Yeah need an official answer

Allen or Trevor we need an official answer on this. Had a guy ask me the same thing last htx hunt we had. I've always just went by the nite hunt rules. Must hold tree for now 3 min, must open every 8 min, more or less if it's a minus in the hunt it's a fault in an htx. Never had the 8 get one, but if it can't hold a tree for the amount of time than it didn't tree and STAY TREED. Which is a requirement. But now that a dog can be silent on track in a nite hunt, I can see no reason Ukc would call it a fault in an Htx. Regardless of how everyone personally feels about it, it passed. So what do we do, must open on track or change it?

I agree NEXTCOONHUNTERS the whole objective of HTX degree is to prove that your dog can accurately tree coons without the help of other dogs right? You and I drive different but still get to our destination!!! The MAJORITY not ALL of the people against a silent hound are mad because their pack runner AKA (ME TOO) dogs don't stand a chance when they don't know what they are following. A lot of people these days are purposely breeding for this trait so they aren't getting beat by dogs that cover all night in which most cases did happen until the new tree closing time requirements.
