Two females in heat

I have two females in heat and am pondering on what to breed to or if I am even going to breed them. I have not been Competition hunting much anymore and was wanting other people's opinions on what to breed to. I am looking for a dog that puts a lot of drive in its pups, can run a track and has a good nose. Any input would be greatly be appreciated. They are good females. I am posting their pedigrees below:

Dogs

I would check out the crash dog in Kentucky he is out of a good litter I heard he is the right kind ,also the jessup dog in mo. heard he could move a track fast and get wooded also you have Botox, and big country time and driving distance makes a difference .

A lot of nice ones to choose from. Botox, Big Country, Lonesome II and my Jessup dog. Jessup can run away from most dogs on track, honest strike dog and independent. Comes on tree with 1-2 big locates, you can tree him on the first one. During his competition career I can say he backed another dog one time and his 2nd tree was close to being a 1st. I’ve hunted with Big Country once and he was real nice too.

Koon Krossin- I like the way Kid is bred. I would love to work it out to go hunting sometime! I like the crosses you have made!

Nextcoonhunters- Neither have been bred yet. I have one male out of Speed and several local but I am not wanting to go that route. Everything at my house is out of Speed except for my Bailey female.

I personally wouldn't breed Bailey to Kid but think Kid X Lilly would do good.

Spud -Thron x Lacey
Or you could go with some really big name dogs. Leon, Country, Banjo.

I haven't hunted with but a few of those dogs but have some experience with the lines the others are out of. Goose and Blaze are out of Jobe, I've had good luck with that line. Rock has always interested me, but have no first-hand experience with him. Kid has a super nice ped but a little to stacked in my opinion to cross with Bailey. I have hunted with Spud and dogs out of him. The Jessup dog, I haven't had the chance to hunt with but heard good things. Mr. Jack had one named Smoke. He should reproduce some track dogs. I have a female closely related to him. If you were interested in BJ, you can call and talk and we'll see what we could work out. The others speak for themselves. I had a pup out of Banjo to much independence for me but most would have loved him. Jay Williams has a nice dog I've heard out of Leon, I'm sure he would tell you about him. Country you could talk to Phil about him. Good luck picking, it's never a sure thing but sure nice to have high hopes in a cross.

Do you make all your breeding decisions by just looking at papers?

Bolt is a nice hound, not perfect by any means. He has treed me coons in several states, he’s not a stud dog, just a coon dog. I’ll show him anytime.

Looked back though the page. And all of em listed on the whole page I've heard are just that coondogs. From multiple people. It's hard to pick one and even harder or impossible to know what can and will be the best cross. Good luck again Junior.

My female Ivy, is doing really good, she is very naturally independent, as accurate as I’ve ever had, she hunts fast & will cover a lot of ground. Not the loudest mouth but carries very good in the hills of Wv, I have heard her over a 1/2 mile with no problems. I have treed an awful lot of coon this fall & winter with her. She’s not finished yet but we’ll on her way, hopefully I’ll have her in the hunts this summer.

Hey just hit me. If I was you I'd be on the horn with the Davis boys. If Patches aka Abby turned out that good. Wasn't ole zip and Lily littermates? I know she was the only one in that litter, but must have turned out pretty good. Just thinking for ya. If it worked that time might be able to do it again. Good luck.

I bred one to a bear dog and decided to wait on Bailey. Planning on breeding my Spot female if she will ever come in heat.
