Wood vs. Composite kennel flooring

I’m building a new dog lot, and I’m looking at doing one with a raised floor. I had originally planned on doing concrete, but I think I would have a hard time getting a slab poured in the area I need it. Does anyone have any experience with using the composite decking for the flooring as apposed to regular decking? If so, what are the pros and cons? Thanks!

I have a bad water problem during spring rains. I used cross ties with treated lumber in my 10ft by 10ft pens the decks are half of the pens I like being able to spray under them the rest of the pen is crushed lime rock I have no flea problems at all.

IMO find a way to pour the concrete. There is nothing cleaner than concrete, and nothing easier to keep that way.

I use poultry house flooring. Raised kennels. Love it. Cleanest thing I have found. Doesn't absorb moisture.

decking

I have had raised treated lumber kennels for years. Would not have anything else. I leave about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap between boards that way if a male urinates into another kennel it can't run far. I run them length wise of the kennel. Have crushed limestone under kennel. Clean out once or twice daily and have had zero issue's. I can high pressure watch easily and sanitize easy. Dogs love it. My treated lumber decking boards are about five years old now and look like the day I installed them. Composite boards get way to hot in summer time. Get so hot u can't put your hands or feet on them.

I have a raised kennel with composite deck boards (PVC) for flooring. I like it and haven’t had any issues with it. I have the boards gapped so allow waste out. Mine has a metal roof that keeps rain and sun off the biggest part of the flooring so heat hasn’t been a factor on mine.

I have the poultry panel flooring the only draw back if you got a dog that drops it's feed while eating it drops through the floor and it's gone. Other than that they work good

I put a mat right under the feeder.
