Bruce quick question TT15

I have two TT15 collars that both work but will start loosing signal at various distances. Part of the time they work well. Have a new TT15 that seems to not loose signal when the others do. I should point out they don't do it at the same time. I don't have access to a PC (only have a MAC) so they have not ben updated. Will that help? (Guess it wasn't as short as I thought it would be.)

Updating them can't hurt if you use a windows computer. Never a sure thing that updating will help but that is the place to start. How are the antennas on the collars. Are they chewed up on the ends. Some antenna maintains from time to time is never a bad idea. They them off and see if the contact point is clean. There are a lot of small things that can be checked. Another thing is the ID numbers. You can. can try some different numbers. Every thing I mentioned only taks from a few seconds to a few minutes to complete. How is the antenna on your handheld?

What makes a lot of this difficult in determining the problem is. This equipment runs on a range of frequencies. That means one collar is always going to be better tuned to the handheld. The differences are usually very slight but there is a difference. Please don't mistaken what I said. The difference shouldn't be a half mile. But if your paying close attention which most are not. The differences many times are .1 mile which is about 170 yards. And that is the dogs out at a distance over a mile away. Not within a few hundred yards.

Bruce both anttenas are good shape and I have cleaned the connections. This happens from 300 yds on out but the next time dogs will be 3/4 mile and not loose any connection. Just puzzles me. I might try the long antenna on my handheld and see if that helps. Always appreciate your help. I do need to look and see how old they are but both are in real good shape but I use them 4-5 times a week.

.

First the collar has to be ON.
Then select the dog and hit menu bar and you will have that option.
Id numbers are
1-1 thru 1-20
and go all the way to
5-1 thru 5-20

That gives you 100 choices.
