Attention Tulsa, OK Dog Owners

TO: All Breed/Specialty Dog Clubs and Members

RE: URGENT REQUEST

The City of Tulsa, Oklahoma is currently in the process of overhauling its Animal Welfare Ordinance laws.

In summary, the drafted revisions include elimination of Tulsa's current Hobby Exemption permit and creates three (3) new permits that are unenforceable and are detrimental to the interests of purebred dog owners, dog sports enthusiasts and preservation breeders.

The city’s proposed draft also includes an alarming mandate that an individual applying for an exemption permit or an individual who holds an exemption permit must allow an animal control officer to enter and inspect the individual’s private property without a warrant, cause or consent.

The other document contains the revised amendments written by Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa's Legislation Committee and who were asked by Tulsa's Animal Welfare Commission to submit changes to the proposed draft for the Commission’s consideration.

Our Legislation Committee’s revised amendments have been endorsed by the full membership of our club. We are asking all nationally recognized clubs and their affiliates to join us in support of the purposely bred dog by officially endorsing our revised amendments.

Even if you don’t live in the City of Tulsa, it is important to voice your concerns now as ordinances passed in one city will frequently find their way into other cities and surrounding areas.

Chuck, the first link listed just pulls up a blank screen. I can't find a thing out there with the original language. Let me know if you find anything I was going to send it to all you guys.
