Sounds like a sugar problem just like Patrick Moore suggested, have his sugar checked. Dave

Might sounds stupid but make sure there is not a hole in the water bucket.

As it gets colder out I notice mine drink a lot more water. There's nothing wrong with any of mine.

Mine also... mine seem to drink alot more in the winter... seems odd to me, you would think they would drink a lot more in the summer... but mine tend to go through more in the winter.

When mine trees hard she drinks a lot of water that night and the next day. She rarely drinks while hunting.

A logical explanation or theory...

Dogs sweat through their mouths and as they inhale and exhale moisture goes in and out...because they sweat through their mouths when they excel the moisture escapes as we all know...in the summer and warmer months the humidity is quite a bit higher so when they inhale in those times the dog actually receives water from the humidity in the air so it takes a lot more hunting to dehydrate them...

So heavy exercise or hunting in the winter time will cause dehydration at a faster rate as the humidity drops...the lower the humidity the faster the dehydration rate...

Down in Southeast Texas where I’m at isn’t a problem...

Something else just occurred to me...

Lower humidity in the air means the air can absorb more water...since the air intake to the dog is low in moisture then that also means when the dog is exhaling he would be exhaling lower (dryer) humidity air...but when he is about to exhale this dry air and co2 from the lungs, this lower humidity increases the expelled water rate because of the dryness in the air...

Several months ago we were going to get a cool front moving in...the weather man said it was going to rain...it didn’t rain and the explanation was the low humidity in the atmosphere absorbed the rain before it made it to the ground...

I'm still laughing at this. Carpenter, did you ever check the bucket?

I have checked the bucket I did forget to mention that she has vomited from time to time. She has been vet checked to rule out kidney issues.

I would say try a different dog food before I went any farther if she's vomiting. It might be upsetting her stomach and she's drinking to make it ease up.
