12/6/19 ATTENTION: THIS MALE POSSIBLE COONHOUND WAS HIT BY A CAR AND IS NOW AT THE VETS. HE WAS FOUND ON THE ROAD, RT (97) LITTLESTOWN PIKE NEAR BLACKS SCHOOLHOUSE RD NOT FAR FROM THE PA LINE. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHO THE OWNER IS OF THIS HOUND, PLEASE CONTACT THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF CARROLL COUNTY MARYLAND. 1 410 848 4810

Update 12/7/19. I called the Carroll County Humane Society, as of this morning no owners have come forward. He has internal organ damage and a broken hip. His surgery is scheduled for Monday. He is being kept comfortable and it sounds like he has a good chance of pulling through. Many times in situations like this owners are afraid to come forward in fear of charges being brought against them. This is not one of those cases. The humane society only wants to reunite this pup with his family. I am hoping with all the attention this dog is getting that his owners are found soon. There is so much love and support for him. Many people are donating towards his care. Thank you all for sharing and getting the word out in hopes that his family is found!

I know how much I'd hate to lose one of my hounds. I hunt them, but they're my pets too. Most hunters want their dogs back just as much as most pet people do, and most of the people here know many of the hounds in their local area and know who is missing a dog. Cross posting these isn't much work to get them home and does my heart good.
