new rules, high scores and a lot of dogs out of pocket

UKC already has some very high scores at big hunts, wait until these new rules take effect. With all the opportunity to stop the hunt time while walking to trees and only waiting 3 minutes on tree. I bet we will have 2000+ scores.
I always thought UKC had the best rules going, but I sure don't like some of the new ones. It is common knowledge that people breed dogs to make them fit the rules. How are these new rule changes going to make for a better coon dog?
I think it is going to be hard to guide unless you have a super big area and we will be spending a lot of time walking without the hunt time running. An hour hunt could last a long time.

The way I understood the rule was the only time you can call timeout walking to trees is when you have dogssplit and the cast is going to move after scoring the dogs. Otherwise you score the tree recut that dog and go to the next one that treed. But a 2000+ don’t do any more good than a 50+ cast win when you don’t make it back before deadline and in some areas deep and lonely and calling time out instead of hunting you’ll never get your hunt time in and back to the club.

JiM who's opinions I felt were generally sound said on here one time, that a no leash lock rule would tighten the reins a little,if it does, it should force a guy to hunt a dog that would take on a tuffer track, a dog that has a bag goodies. We shall see

I like the rule that you can call timeout when dogs are split because the automatic strike guys drag their feet so you don’t have time to tree another coon. Takes the man out of it and more of the “best dog wins”
