I got asked a question?

I never used the driving rule I don’t have an advisor I assume the only way you can use it is call time out and it has to be a case where you cannot get to the dogs safely any other way.

Well answer it then ole great obiewankinganobie !! We don’t and can’t drive down here to big of sections. But the guy don’t know and I don’t either but they wanted to drive and told them they couldn’t.

I didn’t ! I was not there ! Never had it happen on a cast unless we was on time out and had an hour to catch dogs. I remember it being on here one time but don’t remember what Allen said. So I am asking sombody that knows. Looks like everything would be good till you got around there and somebody’s dog got minused for not being treed and they was a sore looser. But I really don’t know.

All dogs have to be treed can only do it 2x in a hunt and pretty sure all handlers have to agree to it. After 10 minutes time out is called just like if your walking. As far as what happens while driving it is what it is you can't minus what you can't hear to prove. Not used very often here maybe if they got across a river or something.
I remember back in the winter we went to a club down south of here in Missouri and a guy questioned this whole driving thing all dogs weren't treed in. The panel Chey said didn't rule correctly, they probably didn't put him on it for a reason lol.

Everyone has to agree to drive/ride. You can't agree to drive around and then change your mind when you get there. That is kinda like agreeing to split tree points and then changing your mind when you get to the tree.

Cool beans us old guys can now have buggy hunts takes us 10 minutes to walk back from where we cut the dogs to the buggy we can make two trees and drive right up to them all us old guys will agree to that wooooooo hooooooo

Strangely they won't let you drive a buggy. I personally don't see what the difference would be in a car, truck, side by side golf cart or whatever but UKC has specifically said no side by sides. I know one guy that drives his tractor to hunts pulling a truck bed trailer with a dog box. I really don't see how they can dictate what a person drives to the woods in a hunt. The way I read it you can't even use a side by side to drive to the woods.

Side-by-Side Vehicle in Nite Hunts

Q:_We have a couple guys in our area that have tried to convince our club that UKC has approved the use of side-by-side, all-terrain vehicles during the course of a nite hunt. They actually brought their side-by-sides to our last nite hunt. As a Master of Hounds, I try hard to stay up-to-date with UKC policies, but haven’t heard of any such a thing. They got a little upset that I didn’t let them use them at our hunt and said several other clubs are allowing it.

A:_Good call. UKC has not approved the use of any such vehicles in nite hunts. That would be a pretty big deal if we did allow them and, given you try to stay up to date, your suspicions were spot-on. I’m not sure where that comes from, other than possibly the fact that we allow them on the grounds at Autumn Oaks? Facebook, maybe? Who knows?

I always said all of the others could be put out of business if 1 made 2 simple changes ... let em drive whatever through the hunt and drink beer. My need the non drinkers for designated drivers lol and bouncers for judges but the turn out would be good.

So as long as all dogs are treed and you walk 10 minutes and than call time out you are able to drive to the tree which the dogs are treed? Or drive around to get closer? Does it matter if dogs are split treed? Had an instance this past weekend dogs crossed the river on us and dogs could of all been treed and instead of walking 2.5 miles we could of drove around to the other side of the river?

Might be some confusion here. You cant ride them around while your hunting but you can use them to access a area that you cant get to by truck.
