Western north Carolina
Who would be interested in a big UKC hunt in the fall in the mountains of North Carolina maybe king of the mountain or queen of the mountain hunt close to Western Carolina University?

I would be super interested to see that pulled off. You thought they whined when they went to Georgia. Wait till they hit them mountains. Gonna be hard to have enough casts in good coon woods. A bunch will be sent to the mountain if it’s a big turnout. It will be funny to see their faces when you said were gonna send them up this branch!
I’m 100% for it!

Great idea !!!!! I Hunt there all the time
When hunting these mountains i like a dog that hunts out about 6 to 800 yards then checks back in and is a good track dog very accurate. You can leave your waders at home just need a good pair of boots
I think it should be a three-day event Thursday night hunt for any dog wanting to show in the show must be a cast winner on Thursday night to compete in the show on Friday beautiful country in the heart of the Smoky Mountains
The hunt needs to be in the foothills or piedmont in nc going to be hard to draw people to come hunt them steep hills but good luck

Better yet, have one and require the casts to hunt public land only. There’s plenty of ground. With all the Coondogs everyone is packing nowadays it should be no problem putting up high scores!!!!

Hunt
I live 10 min from western carolina university. Hunting is tough here and our turnouts aren't good. People aren't gonna like how rough it is and how thin coons are. It will definitely take a coon dog to win if you hunt public land wild coons.
Exactly!!!
Its a perfect proving ground for all the big boys to show who really has the goods. True, it will never catch on. And if they did come once they would never return again. But it would let some people see into what real thin coons and hard hunting actually is.

Rule #1- All dogs must be cast from the parkway between 276 and 215.
Just cast them south from the college! I’ll stay on 64 and catch them deep and lonely specialists before they jump off into the gorge!!! Better put some men in the middle of that country to help them score trees before the 2 hours is up.
