$15,000 Is a lot of money for a brood female but her daddy was famous and she's a ntch so breed her and sell the pups for a $2,000 a peice lol.

Would you breed your titled female that has titled pups to a brood male that has never been bred an never been hunted? His answer But she out of trackman and a Lipper Female.

I am going to breed my titled female to a dirrect grntch son of tequila sunrise that has 10 pups 2 grntchs and 3 ntchs. Fooled you huh lol. But to answer your question and you know this the day a pup is born they are born with their reproducing abilitys the titles or abilitys made by hunting them just makes us feel better. There was a dog here where I live way back in the day he wasn't worth a dime !! Wouldn't do nothing ! Got accidentally bred the whole litter was coondogs. They bred the crap out of him and he through coondogs off of anything. But would I do it no !!!

I tried to sell a "brood female" once and nobody would buy her. So I kept her and she raised 50 pups. That is $25,000. As she got older I finished her to a Gr Nt Ch inbetween litters. I even won Overall Opposite Sex Champion at Redbone Days one year when she was 6 wks pregnant. She is now on the Top Reproducers List also. I sure am glad that nobody bought her when I tried to sell her.

Titles don’t impress me neither does brood females.

Lots of untitled top reproducing females made some stud dogs look way better than they should have but because the female was untitled the stud dog got all the credit. We had at least 2 cast each hunt of grade dogs back in the day and most times they was high scoring dog of hunt. They bred them and they reproduced good coon treers!!

You just never know where the champ will come from !!

Took a lot of years to learn that stuff me and marv was laughing today. Back in the day tar was the pooper scooper , dog loader and unloader, waterer and feeder , baby set dogs and puppy's while the older guys done buisness. copilot to and from the hunt my pay was to get to hunt whatever was bought or traded for in the hunt if I won I got a little cash if not it was a blast !! But in between all that I listened to everything the greatest in the sport had to say.

Saved me a lot of mistakes lol.

Brood

Outside of titles paper's and winning money ! We use to breed for what we liked . I was taken under the wing of 2 older gentleman and paid very close attention . One of them had a cold female no grit no drive nothing to her but she looked good . And everything he bred her to produced catching machine's . She was bred right too . Now this was also line breeding at it's best . He told me son listen here . Every so often this happens and theres nothing you can do about it . Either embrace it and try your luck or cull it and never know .After working hard and keeping up with the 2 yards as my chores I was given a female i raised and she was as nice as they come . Brain's looks and temperament . She turned 14 month's old and I took her to the pen . That hog ran over her and she climbed the fence to get out of there . Disgusted with her I started to make a bone pile . Then one of them old men talked me into breeding her to a brindle plott dog . The whole litter were hog catching machine's . That little buckskin cur dog threw the hardest biting dog's I'd ever seen . And I line bred that cross for 8 or 9 years . Tough little brindle cracker curs . . Never know what might happen . Might be the best cross you ever make . Might be all duds .

A friend of mind had a female that never left his yard. He sold over 30,000 worth of pups out of her in the 1990s. She was the female that helped get the buck Creek dogs where they were back then. She got run over by a dump truck I'm his driveway. Lol.

Tim Osborne

Now if you were only interested in the money, you would buy her. Lol. We both know that isn't going to happen, we have way to many brood gyps as it is. Quality matters to those that really care and I know you care. Dave
