Alpha question?
Can you take the birdseye from one alpha and copy it to another alpha micro sd?

With GOD all things are possible.

Legally NO. Actually the way Garmin has it coded and programmed. I don't think many coon hunters could, even if it was legal. So my answer would be NO but as soon as I say that some computer genus will say they can. They are probably right.

Thanks Bruce
Thanks for an honest answer. I have one more, can I hook my alpha to a laptop to "track"? My wife likes to sit in where its warm when I hunt around the house. She says she likes to listen to the dog. I bought this alpha so she can watch from the drive track in the truck but thought it would be nice to have a bigger screen to look at from the laptop when she's in the house.

Your answer will be a combination answer. Yes the ALPHA can transmit over to a laptop. But it has to be plugged into the laptop with a usb cable. So you cannot be off in the woods and sending a signal back to the laptop. Only thing you could do is set up a base station if you hunt around the house. Set up a truck antenna on a pole and get your wife a handheld. Then connect to either a drive track or laptop

Sorry I guess I should of mentioned that I have 2 alphas and that we have them linked together. I just wasn't sure how to pair it up to the laptop. I have ot paired with my drivetrack and I have the small 2 ft. Antena. I may need to run a little larger antena though. Thanks

Thank you Torey Wood! Due to the snow here today I was cooped up most the day playing with it. I will have to try your antena idea. I have not found anyone online do this yet. Then again I may have not searched the correct thing lol. Thanks again!! Hopefully this will keep my wife's interest, I got her out a couple times this season.

The above link should work for your alpha. It probably isn't the best performing antenna out there but it should be a step up from the antennas that come with the alpha.
.
I think you would want to go with a larger antenna. You would also want to mount it on a pole as the higher you mount it the more distance you can get.

Actually the success of your venture will be determined by the antenna you use and how far you hunt from the house. Your probable going to be limited to a 4 mile range around the house with 5 or 6 miles possible at times. Again the range depends on the height of the antenna off the ground and if your location is in a valley or on a hill.

I live in northwestern ohio and we are as flat as a pancake. I was thinking about mounting it on our tv antena that we do not use. Is there extensions I can get for the antena cord?

Yes but you should consult someone in your area that has Antenna/Coax experience. Most feel they just stick up and antenna and that's good. Not correct. Antenna/coax need to be tuned and any connections and length of the cable affect things. If I was you. I would try and find a HAM Radio person in your area or someone with experience.
