Cost of semen storage

Hey guys. Been a lonnngg time since I’ve posted on here. Spent the last hour or so reading all the post and thinking of old memories I made while competition hunting. Anyhow, here lately I’ve been thinking of storing some semen from my old male so that when the times up for him, I have some semen that I can later on breed back to when I have more time to hunt. He’s 10 1/2 but still in hunting health so I’m hoping that I can still have him collected. Im just curious about how much this usually cost to have done. Thanks guys and happy new year.

Anywhere from $25.00- $100.00+ Annually.
Depends on "who" the storage facility is.

Place I called said $420 to draw and store for first year. $90 a year afterwards

"Drawing fee" would be in addition to "storage fee" after the initial draw annually.

Dean is usually about $275 to draw and store the first year. I have 63 different breedings stored at Deans and it's $87 a year, just paid it.
Straws are $1 and vials are $2.50 each per year.

$350 here to have collected. $110 yr to store per stud dog but any qty.
I just bought my own tank , it will pay for itself in no time !! I can hold 600 straws . I'm done paying someone else to store it.

It all depends on the size of the facility, their overhead, whether it is run by a Vet or a "technician", whether the facility is part of a nationwide network..... Every facility's charges are different. Do your homework. Some are very reliable and some not so much.

I've owned my own tank for years and have breedings for cattle & hounds in it. I just keep a little in different locations.
