One more win

How many need one more win for Nt Ch or Gr Nt Ch. I'm in that boat and there are no hunts near me this year. I was hoping UKC would stay with the point system and let us keep our points. Make each cast win worth 20 points. My dog has 2 firsts. I would need only one cast win. It doesn't seem right that a dog with 2 fifth places is even with me now.

If they can't win eight cast win then they don't deserve it. I have a female that needs one win to be grand. If she can't get the wins to be grand then she don't deserve it. Ukc needed to make it more difficult to be night champion and grand. Maybe they need to start the grade hunts back up lol.

Deserve got nothing to do with it, if you don’t win 8 NtCh cast you can’t make GrNtCh. Some people think making a NtCh or GrNtCh will be harder, I think it just cost more.

Tim that will depend a lot on geographical locations. Some areas are abundant with clubs and coons. Some areas are a long distance between clubs and a lot of dead cast because of very scattered coons on bad nights.

I now but if you got to drive further to the grocery store than Sombody else it makes your groceries higher right ? I would be in hog heaven to have 4 clubs in 30 miles of me I wouldn't notice having to get more wins as much.

I honestly think it will depend on the area you hunt as to if it will be easier or harder to finish one. In the areas that draw bigger crowds it might be easier in the fact all cast wins will now count instead of just the 1st place nite champion wins. In areas with smaller crowds it will be harder(aka take longer) to finish one because you need more wins.
In the area I hunt I’ve never had one that took more then 3 wins to finish to nite champion, haven’t had any issues getting my 1st place registered win and have only ever had 2 nite champion cast wins not count towards grand.

I don't hunt in a lot of local hunts. Mainly the larger bluetick events. A gyp I have won two first and soon will need 3 more cast wins to be nt ch. Nothing like changing the rules of the game in the fourth quarter.

I'd say you will see twice as many under this system, and most will be made in the area's where you have a high number of small clubs that don't draw many dogs. A lot of these clubs have very few members and even fewer that actually hunt and they will be jumping all over the double headers and getting at least 2 cast wins per dog every weekend. It won't be hard to title one out when you hunt the same 2 or 3 dogs twice a night on Friday and Saturday, and that's a sad fact. Yes, I know those same people were doing it under the old system as well. At least this way it will cost them a few more dollars for the cheap title.
