Buck IIx and Riedel's Super Nova, Buck & Slammer

On July 26 & 28 Buck IIx was bred to Riedel's Super Nova. This is as much Nelson's Northern Buck and Scaggs Black Slammer in one cross as about possible today. Last year we bred Nova to my Nitech Northern Night Iron Will. (Line bred on Buck) The male I recently reaquired is the reason we made this cross this year. He has a very good bawl mouth with a hard loud chop on tree. The original thought was to make that cross again but during last year's winter I lost Iron with 4 wins towards grand. Now that Jeff and Andy own Buck IIx, he became an option. I have hunted with Buck twice and know that this is a coon dog and worthy of some nice crosses. Nova is bawl on track and short bawl/chop on tree. She is owned by our friend Mike Riedel from Iowa and has been leased to get some pups. We have three females and one male booked already. Pups Booked

Right now I have 3 females booked and 1 male pup. We have other inquiries but have not received deposits on them yet. I will book only 8 pups, 4 m and 4 f as Nova had a small litter last year but we bred her earlier in her heat cycle so we are hoping for better results. This is a frozen semen pup bred to another frozen semen pup. Buck IIx is directly off of Wldch Buck II and Nova is directly off of Slam. Both studs have been gone for years. This is a blast from the past from two live dogs. We are keeping at least a female and possibly a male and Mike Reidel is getting a female. So the breeders are making this cross for ourselves and selling the surplus. Better get ya some.
