Dna ancestry test
Anyone ever try the wisdom panel breed ancestry test on one of your hounds? A friend of mine just did one on a Bnt female of his and it came back as her being 1/4 bnt coonhound. It shows her being mostly Beagle and foxhound.
This gyp is from a half brother sister cross and the beagle thing has me calling BS on the whole deal. Anyone have mixed results?
I have heard they are having trouble with the human versions so you know they will have trouble with the dog version

Man we should do the dna before buying a pup. If it’s mostly beagle then the odds will be it won’t tree. Lol

Last I heard, none of the breed identity data bases had enough samples yet, even from the popular breeds, to be really reliable. Then you have so many of the less popular breeds that they have minimal samples for. For example, one of the largest data bases is for Golden Retrievers. And even the best bred Goldens in the country are only showing up now as 80% Golden.
It's getting there but gonna take a while. But Joey is correct. They will never get away from identifying the breeds that were used in development. Pretty interesting though.
