Question for B&T breeders

How much white on the chest is ok?? This is my first litter of Black and Tan pups to whelp and I was shocked at the amount of white on their chest and some even have white on their toes....and I know for a fact that the sire is a black dog.

My question is will this disappear as they age??

What the breed n on em

A small amount of white on the chest is acceptable but no white else ware. That means a white patch that usually just a small strip. White toes do NOT meet breed specifications and should NOT be registered as a B&T but can be registered as a cross breed.

I am aware of the breed standards! My question was will the white go away as they age. Both parents are full blood PR bred Black and Tans. Just wondering if some B&T breeders ever get some pups that don’t meet the breed standards? If so, what do you do with them??

The white on the chest often gets smaller as they grow. White else ware will stay, particularly on the feet.

A small amount of white on toes will go away most of time. I just raised litter that had small amount white on toes. They are 3 months old now and you can't find any white on there feet.

NATHAN IS RIGHT, BECAUSE OF A LOT OF THE WHITE HAIR ON CHEST IS PUPPY HAIR THAT THEY LOSE AS THEY GROW. (KIND OF LIKE DOWN ON A BABY DUCK).

AS FAR AS THE WHITE ON FEET, ALL I KNOW IS IN THE BREED STANDARD IT STATES " A LITTLE WHITE ON BREAST IS NOT FAULT, BUT NO WHITE ELSEWHERE".

WITH THAT BEING SAID, IF YOU WAIT AND THEY LOSE IT ON THEIR FEET THAN THEY MEET STANDARD.
