How Often

Took my young dog to my and his second hunt got a cast of dogs that should have not been there, slick tree idiots and they ended up running trash most the night ,now my dummy was not on his game so he was at the slicks but did not join in the trash race thankfully, just was very disappointed feal like we went backward

Thats part of it, if they only brought dogs that was supposed to be there no one would show up.

If I didn't have junky slick treers to hunt, I suppose I'd probably have to quit, lol. The goal is to have yours so ready, that it doesn't matter what the others do, whether they belong there or not. And if the way they act influences how yours operates, yours may not be quite ready to be there either.

a deer running fool who will switch over and tree a coon is hard to beat on a full moon night .lol

Ian not saying they can't do what they want that's up to them ,it just surprised me that u would pay 15 to hunt a dog u just bought off a chain the week before that Hadent been hunted in years and the other old dog u said u just walked to 18 slicks and three with coon, my dog sure is along way from perfict and I was not happy with the way he hunted at all ,maybe they thought the same thing about mine lol

Yessir. I've been on lots of cast where I looked at what I'd drawn and couldn't believe someone would pay to hunt it. And there's probably been more than a couple nights when people have went home thinking the same about mine...

Some nights are better than others. You have your competition hunters who have elite hounds...You have pleasure hunters with COONHOUNDS... and you have what you dealt with last weekend. They are all just dogs

some dogs just don't jive together if ya know what i mean. sounds like ya went to a lot of trees. the next hunt may not have a tree dog in the cast and ya spend the whole hunt without getting a tree.
i have seen very nice coon treers draw together and just look horrible at times that is just the way it goes some nights.

Mine don't go till they are ready and past the point of being a backer.

Sounds like

It sounds like you should not have been there either. If your dog was ready it would have been treeing coons and not me tooing on slick trees.
