shipping pups by plane?

How many of you have done it? Was it a good experience or bad experience? Tell me the in and outs please

Wife has shipped many of her foo foo dogs puppies. You need a vet filled out form within 10 days of shipping. Approved crate. Never had a problem. We've used delta and american. Restrictions apply due to temperature sometimes. Cost depended on weight and crate size. Never had more than 300 anywhere in usa.
