Well, slicks are minused both ways. If they walk off, you just take tree minus. But not much good about either. Pups!

It's not really funny but

A while back an older Walker guy said he spent the first 30 years chasing and putting dogs on the tree, the last 20 running them off of trees.
I'm thinking the later is easier, but a track dog sure looks smart if you can make them stay treed.
Wear tennis shoes. HA HA.
Dang pups.

The young tree monster only gets worse, the running type seem to figure it out and become accurate tree dogs.IF YOU DON'T get mad and sell them. That said I spent 15yrs trying to get them to stay treed, and the last 15 sending them on. Ha ha. I guess that is were all the fun is with a pup. Old dog trees coon after coon and I get bored.

Well

This time he stayed. Such a nice tree dog when he wants to be. The best part of training this one is. I have never turned a Coon loose for him and I have only played with him one time after I shot one out to him. I have practically wore this pair of quatros out but he has been worth it. But I do have Plantar Fasciitis and it’s killing me for about the last 6 months.

To me a pup that has to grow up and mature into a better treedog is not only acceptable but shows good signs of brains. But a dog that thinks there is a coon up every tree in the woods is worthless. Just my opinion.

So you are saying the Pup , is doing it all on its own?
And , has been? But , wont stay when they have it? Guessing you marked the tree , walked in to see the coon, after pup has moved on?

if doing it alone? Maybe an older dog , yes older slower, and is the type that likes to pack , fallow , ect?
Maybe old dog would fallow in the pup? and hit the tree , and stay?

Just , sit and wait on pup to come back? Tie it out, and give old dog the coon?

sure non of that would work?
But, i was trying to think it through..... LMFAO!
