Suggestions appreciated

I have a diamond plated kit (front, and trim) for a full size dog box, what can I use for the body of it,that would be as light as possible and fairly durable?

I built one I used half inch plywood and 5/4 ruff cut oak framing screwed and glued and ground all inward Sharp corners painted inside and applied taint able raptor spray on bed liner making outside water proof if this is a Owens kit its 26 inches tall giving dogs lots of room I have another kit I'm getting ready to build another one it will be shortened in length to cut weight Don't forget to silicone all trim I also ordered stainless steel screws from as Amazon for trim as zinc coated ones discolor and then rust I also installed 2 oak runners on bottom making it slide in and out easier

I don't know if it's an Owens or not, I got it off an old box that was rotted down and cleaned it up and it is just like new now and I was wondering if I couldn't find something a little bit lighter than half in.plywood.

Aircraft aluminum sheets. I have a box made completely of it. Nice because there are no seams,it's all folded. I didn't make it though I bought it second hand from a guy who demonstrates cattle dogs at farm shows. He had it 10 years and I've had it 3 years and it still looks new! Don't know how much you want to spend but thought I'd throw it out there as an idea anyways. Good luck

[QU something a little bit lighter than half in.plywood. [/B][/QUOTE] THAT WOULD BE 3/8" PLYWOOD.

Google DK Plastics. They recycle plastic and make sheets in any thickness and size. Several colors to choose from. Not sure about the cost. I think similiar to ply wood.Should lst for ever.

Alumalite makes a nice box. Full size weighs about 45lbs several different colors but kinda pricey

the problem with lighter materials is they flex to much requiring more framework adding more weight

Amish

Amish built a box for me they used a sandwich panel aluminum on outside styrofoam in between makes a great box and light. They even have colors lol
