How many would like to see ?

That old format on registered cast only cast winners place first finish out through 10th place with plus point non cast winners.

Under that format, are you saying that if you had 4 dogs or 1 cast they would all get a place....first through fourth?

Posted by yadkintar on 03-14-2018 04:54 PM:

Look at at it this way Richard you had three registered cast two came in dead the one cast all four dogs were split all had coons but the strikes determined the cast winner didn't all four dogs do their job and tree a coon the other cast had the same opertunity. My theory is the more dogs at the hunt the harder that first place is to get you remember that format in reality those non cast winners were getting so little points the had to go to a lot of hunts for it to add up without that hard to get first place all those 5th through 10th places didn't help much but it helped the clubs we ain't trying to help the dogs we are trying to help the clubs survive heck you can get your dog titled now days without him leaving your back yard lol.

Maybe you could come hunt down here for a month and see if you still feel that way there is a reason those Yankees buy dogs from down here to win with we bring their dogs down here they are worthless that's why there was only one world hunt down here.

I see you've been conversing with the Rabbit & Alice again today

How was that mushroom you had for breakfast? Even more to the point, are you willing to share?

Sheez ...... where's the Red Queen when you need her?

We can give out Participation Points! If there is more than 2 cast we can give 5 points to each hound just for coming and completing the hunt.
Lol

And what is your excuse? At least I have a valid one! More importantly, are you willing to share?

Mike it is funny, But a whole lot of truth in that post, back when men were men, a hand shake sealed the deal, we took our wins like we took our losses, we argued till proven wrong and walked away a little smarter. We titled Good dogs and was proud of it.

I don’t have a clue, I was just trying to fit in with the skinny jeans crowd, bett I don’t answer Tar’s calls anymore!

Posted by yadkintar on 03-14-2018 06:34 PM:

Like I said it would help the clubs survive will it work now ? I don't know but without the clubs you will have no hunts I have and still do compete in the hunts but if I didn't and some that comment negatively don't I would not say a word !!!! In the grand scheme of things does it really matter how you obtain titles at the local level it's more or less for family entertainment ain't nobody going to pay much attention to you unless you win at the major hunts and yes you better be packing heat. Got to have something for everybody that's why the $$$$ hunts are more attractive right now.

But bashing folks don't help that are trying to help.

Well

It did used to be that way, but then again we also had final four cast. 3 hour hunts. Grade dog hunts.
Wanna raise hunt numbers get rid of some clubs.

Wanna talk old days? Remember when you got your FullCry magazine and all the hunts fit on one page and that was for all states. If you tried that today the print would have to be so small you couldn’t read it. Then add in pkc, chkc and see how many hunts there are in a months time! Can’t be at all of them.

I JUST THINK UKC HUNTS WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE WAY THEY WERE WHEN WE STARTED,I WAS JUST THINKING I BET COREY WAS THE YOUNGEST HUNTER THERE SATURDAY NITE? JESSEJ

Mike I of all people people know what we are up against I am 30 miles from a $$$$ kc headquarters I am surrounded but hey me and the boss been friends for a lot of years and I enjoy their hunts too. But I feel a sense of loyalty tword ukc because I come from a time when that's all we had a lot of good memories and it would be a lot easier just to give up and jump ship. There is a $$$$ hunt every night of the week down here I can't just make my self give up on ukc can't do it !!! All this is just throwing ideas against the wall and see what sticks anyways.

April hunts

Did you know when doing a search for night hunts in UKC alone for the month of April that 464 events are scheduled?

Not downing it in anyway Tar but I dont think it would bring anyone back. We send 4 dogs out to hunt against one another and we only need to take the winner, the others get to try again next week. They already grand out and have to wait until they have another dog to come back. That would just speed that process up. UKC is hopefully going to do some stuff that will help and make some of your work at the club a little easier and bring some new folks to the local hunts. We will have to see.
