SC State Hunt

Heard a real nice young Bone Collector dog won the registered class on Saturday nite with a big score. And it looks like James Grice had some fun on Friday nite based on this: "Sonnyboy got another 1st at STATE HUNT last nite, coons in UNION must be smarter than coons in MARLBORO COUNTY,Scored 5,Sonny had 775 plus"

Dog Didn't win second grand nite !

There was no grand nite second place winner on Saturday nite! There were only 5 grand nite chs in the hunt. The Bean dog won his cast with 925 plus but did not place in the hunt even though they gave him the high scoring opposite sex cast winner. The first place registered had 850 plus.

They always use top scores. Several years ago two dogs made final four that were both GrNtCh’s and only one of those was the GrNtCh winner. I think the second place GrNtCh won the state hunt that year. All opposite sex has to do is win a cast with plus points, nothing says they have to place in their division.

I wish they would go back to a final four hunt off. I’ve even offered to judge and guide every final four that I don’t hunt in if they will move the hunt closer. (Closer to my hunting due to going back out at 3am). I am 42 and feel/hope I have several years left of being able to judge and guide cast.
