Garmin question

When I zoom out to look at the woods layout on my map. My dog track disappears it always allowed me to do this before and I don’t have a clue what I’ve done to mess it up. I can zoom out about 3 or 4 times before its gone. Then I have to try to zoom back in and locate the track and follow it to the dog. How can I fix this?
