out crossing

what are you opinions on out crossing ? i took a english male that was line breed wilcox x line breed crystal springs . i breed him to a female walker that was heavy lipper and yadikin river breed . because the walker breed originated from the english breed would you consider this out crossing ? how about if i had breed my english to a blue tick?english male shows hard time speck walker blood and vaughn mountian muisic bluetick blood in his 7 generation pedigree . the pup i kept wasnt the freak of nature i was looking for but still above average in traits i like in a hound.
