Poisoned dogs at winter Classic again

I see that two were poison and maybe 2 more. I do know of two.
At hotel.
Maybe it's time to move it. On top of that charging $150 If you have a dog in room.
Just something to think about.

Yes police was call, hotel had camera's out but of all things they were fake cameras.

hate to hear that. a bad apple trying to spoil the whole bunch. Overall, there are very good folks out there, and I bet if the good ones could catch the bad, the bad would be no more.

How would charging more to those of us that insist on keeping our dog in a hotel room with us to watch them and try to keep it safe help matters?

How would the dog get poisoned at the hotel unless they had rat poison out and they got into it or someone put something in their dog box?

I never thought anyone would stoop so low as to just up and poison an innocent animal that they didn't even know the owner of (I know people do stupid things in anger but strangers?).

WOW.

I always put mine in the hotel with me. I make them sleep in the bath tub on my dirty cloths so they don't leave a mess LOL.

been awhile back someone did that and left room dog hit hot water on and it killed the dog!! not to good

My buddy got his dog poison at the Ukc world 2016. Dog got poison on sat and died on wed we called the fair grounds no video camars where the dog got hit we called Ukc and they said this isn’t the 1st time this has happened.

Sure hope it's not jealousy in our own ranks. Hope they catch whoever it is and they go to jail for a long time. Better yet never get out.
Can't imagine the pain and grief the owners are experiencing.

Quality Inn. I was there. It happened. And, I found it absurd that the hotel room was $60 thurs and Fri night but $151 tonight. Our rooms were nice though. I too find it amazing it was extra fee to bring pet carrier in and kennel dog in room

It's not insane to charge more to keep a dog in a room at all. Some people have absolutely no respect. I walked outside this morning and people had backed up to sidewalks and tied their dogs to the tailgate. They crapped on the sidewalk and they just loaded them and drove off. I brought a fan to sleep with and I'm glad I did. Dogs were barking in boxes all night. As bad as it is to say who ever poison them was more than likely someone they were showing against. I had a cast member in 2011 that doped my dog and knocked them out before we cut loose. It's a shame but they are among us.

Wife has shown akc conformation for years. Big show comes to town rates go up and extra fee for animals in room. Whats new been like that years.

There is alot of truth in this.

I remember staying at Black and Tan days one year and the hotel charged me X amount per night extra for the dog. As I mentioned above I had him sleep in the tub on my overalls every night and didn't make a mess. No hair in the room and I took him into a field to void.

I would tie him out in the shade in the day with water and before you know it hotel staff were petting him every day.

When it came time to check out they did not charge me extra like I agreed to. They said they charged extra to clean up the extra mess and since he didn't make a mess I didn't get charged.

They were good people but they don't own that hotel any more. I thought it was a good gesture on their part.

I had a handler stay somewhere else once and he rented this place with three other handlers and dogs. He wasn't the last to leave. He cleaned up after my dog, but the owner called me and I had to pay extra for him to clean up after the other three since they just up and left without cleaning up and the entire cabin was rented in my name. Lesson learned.

We can be our own worst enemies.

Did they get the dogs autopsied to confirm that they were in fact poisoned? I wouldn't wish a dog dying on anyone but I also wouldn't shout poison until the vet confirmed that's what they died from.

I am fine with paying $15-$30 for the service. Not $150 for it to stay in the crate.

But, I understand. Coonhunters are our own worse enemy at times. I have seen the rooms that some of the hunters and dogs stay in. I would hate to see some of their houses

And, yes it is amazing how many grown dogs bark in the box. I can understand a new puppy and it whining but those old dogs just bark and bark. If they do it there they do it at home
