Bluetick Days

I know it's still early but guys are starting to put there hunting and vacation schedules together so here is some food for thought.... May 17th,18th and 19th National Bluetick Days will be in Eldon Iowa. Our club will be hosting this event and we have already started to put the pieces together to provide a great hunt. We have over 30 guides lined up with quality hunting in less than a hours drive from the grounds. The hunt will be at the Wapello County Fairgrounds. This location has camping on sight with hook ups for those that wish to camp. There are several local cabins and a couple state parks with cabins for rent close by. There are several motels close by as well. The ladies that work the kitchen at the Troy coonhunters put out some dang fine quality food and you won't walk away hungry I promise. We will have plenty of room for vendors. We do our best to put guys in good hunting that if the dogs do their part any cast has the chance at being an overall winner. The Des Moines River lays adjacent to the hunt grounds and this will be prime time for some big catfish if your up for some fishing. We are going to have a field trial, water race , bench show and the hunt. This isn't a coon zoo but we sure enough have a good coon population with great hunting that should see some real nice scores come in. I will be off all week for those that want to come early for some pleasure hunting and catfishing. I can't guarantee everyone a win but I can guarantee I will do my personal best to see to it everyone has a great time. Perfect timing

With the -20 degree weather we’ve been having, this is the perfect time to daydream about spring!
Every since getting into Blue dogs several years ago, this is the #1 hunt I’ve been wanting to attend! Any further information/recommendations of places to stay would be appreciated. Whether I have a dog to hunt or not, I’m going to plan to be there.

Well we went ahead and got our rooms for Bluetick days in Iowa. Planning on being up there mid day on the 17th and heading back on the 20th. Had too go ahead and fit it into my vacation time slot and Corey needed time to work his in as well, he is working 12 on 2 off so a few days with Blueticks and friends will be good time. Hope for a good turn out and last but not least good weather!

JHannack, some places to stay are as follows: Cabins: Lake Wappello state park. pioneer ridge nature area. lake sugema state park. Hotels close by would be in Ottumwa,Fairfield,or Bloomfield. Unfortunately there are no hotels in Eldon but are several in the towns listed above and are all less than 20 miles away. Bobby and Mark , we look forward to seeing you all.

We were able to place deposit on Burr Oak Cabin for the 16th -20th.. This is Darik n Bradleys birthday present from me n momma..Lord willin,We will be takin Dariks Tenacious Titus & Bradleys Tenacious Super Star.

I hope the boys like their birthday gifts from us?
Is there plenty activities for the Youth ??

I attended the Reunion there and it's a great club. We were put on coon, and had a blast. I'll be setting up the camper on Wednesday night!
