Collar ???

DC 30 lost everything....no communication...no battery power....on off switch doesn't work...doesent recognize charger.....
New battery no change.
Any suggestion?

When you changed the battery did you look at the Motherboard for any discoloration? Generally on the end of that the switch is located you will see it. You could try taking it apart again and using contact cleaner and lightly brush the Motherboard down. Your only getting the top side of it but that is better than nothing.

Unfortunately what you described is not good and there is no fix for it. Not in all cases but most. There are some small electronic shops scattered around the country that may help but most can't due to parts availability. Generally what you described means the end of that collar.

People say they see parts available on e-bay but my opinion is by the time you buy parts and then find someone to put them in. It is not worth it. Garmin at this time is only replacing DC 50 and newer collars for around a $100. Anything older and your just about out of luck.

One last thing. Lets pretend you have a bad charger and the battery you put in was dead. Just fishing here. It could be noting more than your battery and a bad battery. Put a volt meter on your charger and the battery. Might be a wild goose chase but one that would save you some money.

I have had 2-DC 30's and 1- DC 40 do that in the last year. Board burnt out. No-one I know will fix them. If someone does, please post here. I could sure use it. Went from 5 collars to 2...
