Location: Panama City FL

Fav: i dont like the cold, so FL suits me usually. I like being able to go fish on the river or offshore and hunt without having to travel.

Least Fav: i hate how thick most of the woods are, and the thin coon population... and thick bug population...

Fav time to hunt: fall or spring, when its still warm enough you dont have to bundle up (im a sissy when it comes to cold weather) but still cool enough at nite youre not having a heat stroke walking to and from the tree

Hunt in North Carolina mainly and a little in South Carolina

Favorite thing about hunting here is we rarely have to deal with extreme cold and snow in the winter when the leaves are gone, we have some pretty good hunts on the river bottoms around where we hunt.

Least favorite: Having to play second fiddle to the deer hunters.

My favorite time of year to hunt is right now through the entire winter. I don't hunt much during the summer, just never been able to get excited about hunting during hot weather. Too rough on the dogs and I don't like the snakes.

Central Arkansas

We probably have more coon hunter friendly state ground than any other state. Good coon population, easy walking big timber on the state ground. Where I live it is fairly easy to get permission on private ground. You can hunt big hills or river bottoms, what ever you like is within a few miles of my house.

Cons? I really dont know of any.

I know what is causing it, but coon are thicker in town then they are in woods. Big tracks of land where we used to hunt are now either subdivisions or getting clear cut and broke up in small tracks.

Hunts fall and spring and best times. Not much state land around but private land is easy to get permission on. But the worst part is some land owners don't want you anywhere around during deer season. Everyone is a deer hunter and they are crazy about their deer.

I notice almost every where people have trouble with deer hunters

East Central Indiana.
Pros: Loads of coon, pretty good amount of woods to hunt.
Cons: Kill season drags out everybody and there brother.
Favorite hunting time is early spring and about this time of the year

Southern Ontario

Pros: lots of agriculture and small creeks
-good woodlots.
-Decent coon population.
-IM THE ONLY COONHUNTER FOR 1 HOUR RADIUS AND I'VE GOT ALL THAT LAND TO MYSELF.

Cons: -busy roads, hard to get a quiet spot and just relax. Theres no cutting the dogs and starting a fire, you have to watch them and the roads.
-Short kill season.
-Humidity in the summer is brutal and if we get a real winter there no hunting from the end of Dec to the end of March.

Favourite hunting time is the end of october through till Christmas. Then April.

SCREW THE DEER HUNTERS they arnt out at night and i have just as much permission as them. In some places Im the only guy with permission to hunt anything because the land owners are tired of getting run over by deer hunters.

I really enjoy hunting this time of the year all the way to the end of February. There is nothing better than hearing a hound strike a feeder track on a cool crisp night and work that track up , then jump the coon and run him red hot ,make him climb .
A good dog competing against a SMART Coon that what works for me. The bad here in northern central Ar is all the Ticks and what they do to or dogs.

South East Iowa

Pros. Good coon population, good terrain, I can be turned loose on any night in any direction in less than 5 min. Plenty of coonhunters around if you want company.

Cons. Plenty of coonhunters around so there is usually company. thick briars and stick tights. all the bigger farms are getting split up and sold off in smaller pieces and at least half of them deer hunt and do not want a dog within 5 miles of them.
