Ukc World Hunt's

I am not trying to start anything at all. This is not the first time there has been controversy at the UKC World Hunt. Back in 1994 a English dog named Pale Face Trampus won the hunt and was stripped of the title. It was awarded to a Treeing Walker female. I thought there were rules put in place to stop any controversy over who won the world championship immediately, and if I am not mistaken a rule was made that by signing your dog up you gave any legal right to pursue any action/sue UKC or protest over any out come of the hunt. I also seem to remember that a call had to be made immediately so the World Hunt could continue without any fall out occuring like is happening now. Can anyone else remember this and help with what I am saying or correct me if I am wrong?

My dad James Howard was on the 1994 world hunt final 4. He owned the Black and Tan Grnitech Hills Black Mac and David Shelton Handled Mac.

Jim Thompson owned the English dog if I am not mistaken. He was from TN also. Do you remember what happened?

Many thanks to Ethan Howard as his posting of the actual score card cleared up my clouded memory. Dave

kinda a double edge sword here dave... poor sport sore loser you say but rules are rules correct? you dont see other sports running out of bonds or using their hands when the sport doesnt call for it!! idk to many double edge sword situations here! but yes the dog every cast member seen do the best job is the true winner.. but the handler is at fault more times than not!!!! play by the rules have fun and just call your dog thats it!!

now we have a little different situation with Sambo but again dog went out did its thing the handler an other human beings get it all twisted because of double edge sword situations or loop holes haha lets just cut em call em an have fun!!

The way I remember UKC said the wrong call had been made to scratch the English dog but wouldn't reverse the decision. It's been a long time, but remember rules were put in place to stop controversy about the world champion.

At the time there was no rule about the beating a tree. The black dog should have won the whole hunt with 200+. Brothers had terra out in the hunt when Mac and trampus treed. Thompson convinced a judge that Mac moved and treed with trampus. Mac never moved. Jim beat on the tree attempting to get a coon to look. At the end of the hunt Jim was cheering and yelling I won the 1994 world hunt!!!!! But brothers had questioned the beating the tree while terra was out hunting and that is where the rule today has come into that play today in come hunting

Here’s the scorecard for the 1994 world hunt. If Jim wouldn’t have convinced the judge Mac moved you would have had a Black and Tan World Champion!!!!

Please explain as I’m a bit confused here.

The scorecard as I’m reading it shows Terra as the clear cut winner beating The English dog by 25. Did she qwit her tack after he beat on the tree and walk into the cast and get minused? It shows her being circled on the scorecard.

Thank you very much for posting that scorecard. I stand corrected, but it was a long time ago and I relied on memory. ( mistake on my part ) You were right. Dave
