UKC can you be scratched for?

This happened a long time ago and I posted on Facebook but I never asked UKC or on here. I got some opinions on the subject but I didn't necessarily agree with them.

Plain and simple my question is this, can you be scratched for a offense committed by another handlers spectator? Specifically for searching a tree before the start of shining time; Rule 6(r)?

Rule 6(w) states that a handlers dog will be scratched for rule violations by THEIR spectators. Key word being "their" not mine.

This hunt was so screwed up the whole cast probably should of been scratched for something at some point or another but in the end it was me that got screwed.

The drop concerning the question went like this. Dogs A,B,C and D get struck dogs A,B and C get treed while D is still on track. 5 minutes are still running on their but we start walking. Dog D falls treed a hundred yards or so away from A,B and C so I tree my dog(dog D) and ask if I can go handle it at the tree. Judge says yes and sends a spectator with me. The spectator never followed me all of the way because of a small creek about 3 ft wide and 3 ft deep. So I crossed it anyway's and go to handle my dog. I start to make my way back to the rest of the cast to score their tree but as I get back to the creek I met the rest of the cast already coming back from scoring their tree. As far as I know it takes the entire cast to score a tree to begin with, so all three dogs A,B and C should have been scratched right then for that reason alone. However I made no mention or argument over that fact. I just wanted to gather the cast to go score my tree. At this point we're all standing face to face at the creek but the cast opted to find a alternate way around to my dogs tree. Again this was a small creek about 3 ft by 3 ft only hundred or so yards from my tree. The whole cast could of crossed it with waders on, which I believe they all had. Once again I had the judges consent to stay on that side of the creek and make my way back to my dog(D). This time a different handlers spectator comes with me, he crosses the creek. We go into my dogs tree and wait for the rest of the cast to arrive. We waited about 15 minutes or so but no cast, by this time hunt time should of been almost over and a coon here would of gave my dog a win. At this point my dog has been treed for 30 minutes or so and goes silent. On top of that my light goes dead. I begin to holler for the rest of the cast to help guide them in but no answer. All the while the spectator of the other handler starts complaining about how long it is taking the rest of the cast to get there as am I. Before I know it he start to shine the tree and low and behold finds a coon. I knew immediately what he had done wrong but was excited that my dog had the coon and should have the win. An hour later after meeting at the creek two cast members arrive at the tree. The third had withdrew and stayed behind. I informed the judge that the spectator had found the coon already. He says "your scratched". I should have remained calm and simply questioned the call but you can imagine my feelings at that point, I was a little upset. I knew that it was a bad call and I was being screwed but I argued and finally changed the judges mind. He withdrew instead and plused the coon. The other handler still remaining opted to make me cut lose with 8 minutes left in the hunt rather than walk it out back to truck. Whether or not any time was actually left in the hunt I have no idea because I had been separated from the cast for a hour or so. We cut loose they both strike and split tree before the end of the hunt. I plus another coon but it doesn't matter, I would never make it back to club house before deadline anyways.

The bottom line is I can't find anything in rules that says your responsible for another handlers spectator. That is where it all went south and I would just like to know for future reference as I'm about to start hitting a few hunts again in the very near future.

I got a good one got scratched at walker days on time out for leaving the cast walking back to the truck I took a short cut and got ahead of the judge and guide and they scratched me for leaving the cast. Master of hounds up held the scatch.

No Jordan they couldn't scratch you. The guy the spectator belonged to could have been scratched. Also in a 4 dog cast they didn't need you at the first tree to score it but all 3 of them had to agree on the scoring. Time should have been called between their tree and yours if it took more than 10 minutes to get to it. So you should of had a lot of time left in the hunt and you have no choice but to hunt it. No walking it out no matter how bad you have them beat.

All we know is that he has to hunt out the last 8 minutes. He didn't say this was the first drop so we don't know if he should have a lot of time left or not.
