Popsicle Pup - Bruce Conkey

Bruce - here is a short clip of my popsicle pup treed in Michigan last night.. He's 8 Months old off of Hardwood Patch Semen and Jay Brademeyer's Lizzy bitch who is a semen pup off of Lipper..

this is number 6 alone for him, he doesn't get treed every time, but he's getting better every week.

I'd pulled my female off a den tree and had never heard a peep from him. Got her off and he showed 200 yards in deeper and rolled up treed.. Led her in to him and rolled that sucker out to him. cut him twice more alone, but no action.

Personable dog and just a lot of fun.. Runs loose in the yard when i'm outside and handles like a dream. Mischievous as all get out, but i kinda like that.

Larry has done and excellent job starting ole Big Iron.. Michael Rosamond, Johnny McClanahan and Rodney Finger all have pups littermates to Larry's pup.. they have all started and do it all alone.. They just now turned 8 months old... They are off Hardwood Patch semen x Ntch Lipper's Lip loc Lizzy.. Lizzy is directly off Lipper semen and war Creek Anna.. very nice job men. We are proud of this cross..

Jay sounds like you're dealing with a good cross placed in good hands, congrats on both 👍!! Lizzy looks like she's gona make her mark for sure, if I hadn't been so full I'd definitely gave one of those off her and Trackman a shot for you.

Jeremy I have a cross coming next time that will fit into your program a little better anyway... Next time my plan is to breed her to Oil Can Sam.. this is a cross I've been wanting to make on her. You know Sam is off Trackman x Xtra Jane ... You want to talk about some go and mouths on them.... Also FYI Rick and I have a just turned 6 months old pup off the cross he made from Charlie ( Frito x Sloopy) x moja ( rebel x janey) we call him ole Harley Boy .. He has treed several all by himself now and just the other day turned six months old. Big Screaming mouth and bust a hole in the dark all alone.. We are excited about him. Thanks for your part in that cross.. Keep up the good work young man.

Thanks for the kind words guys.. Agreed Lizzy is an excellent reproducer.. Hopefully some of us can push these pups in the hunts going forward and get her some "official" recognition.

Jay - this pup has been a breeze to start, just a lot of hours and miles in the woods and socializing in the yard since the first week he came here.. Our house dog who weighs about 20 lbs soaking wet is the best pup starter in the world. He will take those babies thru the woods and get them into all kinds of mischief.. They've traveled a lot of miles together. Now Big Poppa waits in the truck if he goes along and listens to the action.. He's not too happy about that!

Took him back to Michigan last night and he treed another in a big oak bottom about a half a mile back in.. walked him out the other end of the section on a corn field and woods line and never got another peep.. We went to the house happy.

Jay that's exciting stuff when you get a pup like that!! Glad to hear it, couldn't happen to better people. Lots of natural ability in Lizzy's pups from what I see on here from Mr. Hall and Joey, and that wood dog . . . Wow what a mouth!!! I'm a sucker for those kind lol !!

Joey, mine is red/tan headed with black ears and accents.. Has a head just like old Patch.. No doubting who his daddy is!!' I hear and see his mother and grand father in his voice and actions.. He's got that big Lipper bawl when he's on a hot track.

Here is a video clip that shows his head pretty well.. He flat got after one tonight.. he trailed this coon 300 yards across a Michigan state ground swamp and ran his butt up a tree.. I knocked it out for him too!!

Jkidd, I can't hardly not take this pup to the woods.. i have a 10 day hiatus after tomorrow night and i'm going to be climbing the walls!!!

Couple of pics, but a couple months old

I guess I don't pay much attention, mine was black headed! LOL she has gotten some red across the top of her head now. Basically a twin of your pup Larry. She treed another one the other night. I'm really liking her, I got hi hopes she will turn out to be something I'll want a pup out of. I'm going to breed her to her 1/2 brother Wood if she does. She has a lot to prove before then but I think she will make it. Now I'm waiting on my Trackman X Lizzy pup.

Bruce that is a fine looking pup and not too shabby of an "old" female. Good luck on your adventure with him!!

Right on Jkidd!!

Joey, how far from Osceola AR are you? I will be down there for work around. Christmas time. I could see a Patch X Litzy pup extravaganza if we could work it out. Lol. We will be froze in tight here most likely.

I'm a little over 2 hours from there. Its where my family is from. I don't have any hunting up there but I would bet we can find some public ground not far from there. Or you could come this direction.
