Date change for the 5th Annual Eastern Carolina Challenge

Please make note that the 5th annual Eastern Carolina Challenge will be held November 11, 2017 at the Johnston County Wildlife Club in Smithfield North Carolina. We will have a hunt off again this year of the 1st place Grand Nite winner, 1st place Nite Champion, and 1st place Registered dogs to determine the overall nite hunt champion. The winner of this cast will receive $500. Lights will be awarded to the final three. $100 to the overall bench show champion. Another change this year is you have to be a member of the association to compete for the overall in the hunt and show. If you are not a member, memberships will be for sale on the day of the event for $20 each. Also great prizes will be awarded to the winners in both the bench show and nite hunt. Deadline for the bench show will 1 PM with a $20 entry fee. Deadline for the Nite Hunt will be 7 PM with a $25 entry fee. Food will be served all day. Please make plans to attend.

There are several outlets in the area, bring the family and make a weekend of out of it. You can send the wife shopping while you show and hunt. Momma is happy, Daddy is happy, sounds like a win- win situation to me. Look forward to seeing you in November.

Seems you got making Momma Happy down pat. LOL!!! Glad to see you still hanging with it. I lost all my good dogs due to them aging out and I really miss it but with the way land owners have acted around here I believe I maybe done. Good luck to you Brother.

Terry, it is great to hear from you but I hope you don't let the land owners get you down. Coon hunting is like a drug, it is hard to get out of your system, I hope you get another dog and keep plugging along.

Just a question but at the NC state hunt this year current members of an associated club that was paid up on their dues with the NCCHA were eligible for the title. Is that not the case here?

Jordan, you are correct, if your club paid up at the state hunt this year, your membership is good until next year's state hunt.

Don't forget this hunt is next weekend.

Every thing is lined up and in place for this hunt. It should a great time and hopefully have a good turnout. Please remember this is YOUR association and it's success depends on our hunters and show people supporting our events. Please come out this Saturday and join in the fun. The officers of the association would greatly appreciate it because they have worked hard to put on an event that everyone will enjoy attending. Have a great week and I hope to see YOU on Saturday.
