Hunts are down period, but I would bet that graduation season, and Father's Day may also be playing a role.

Maybe the number of walker dogs that can tree a coon are down.

Walker Days

I doubt if the best dog entered in an big event wins because of the luck of finding a coon plays such a huge factor, but when you add in the leaves the luck factor of finding the coon increases many times over and is often more important than dog ability. Finding coon in very large trees on Public Hunting grounds is difficult even with the super squallers and hi-tech lights. I prefer April just because the leaves aren't out as much. And if you say you'll find it if it is there then you haven't worn out enough boots. That is my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
