Nothing dried up about it.

A pile of em out there tearing up the hunts. The hounds that got 7th and 5th in the UKC World Hunt had a decent amount of Fireball in them. Some have more than others. Shoot I produced some pups a few years ago that were so line bred on Fireball by blood percentage it was like Fireball was their dad. Got a litter I plan to do in a couple of years that will have Fireball in them 31 times and some as close as 4th generation. Most of the hounds I currently have are around a 32% blood relation to Fireball. That's a good closer than Fireball being their grandad.

You are probably right Richard. All I have ever seen was a three gen on him. Just curious as I have not dealt with red dogs very long and I am putting together the pieces some of you have already completed in this puzzle. Thanks!

Im pretty sure they've had big pedigrees since the mid 80's and before. I have a couple 6 generation pedigree from 1987, one is from a son of Fireball.

I got some papers somewhere around here.

That litter of Twister pups put Fireball as their grandad with a pile of times behind that but those I think I got a 7 gen pedigree on somewhere around here. That would give ya a 4 generation pedigree of him. Will see what I can find. I know he went back to NtCh Swing Red Rock who thru a lot of go in his pups and GrNtCh Parks Cherokee Red which was apparently a whale of a tree dog.

I've hunted with a bunch of those Fireball dogs and the best I've hunted with was the Turbo dog that is living now that Tim Grigsby owns. He was impressive.

Fireball blood.

There are really 4 main sources of this blood now that I am familiar with. Of course Joe Melton himself; then all my buddies who have worked together up in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana; Preston Owens, and me. I have benefited great from the help I have received from all my friends up North. The closest things alive to Fireball is 3 brothers, the other died of heat stroke, that came from Twister semen that was 12 or more years old and my GrCh Daisy female, who at the time her and her brother, Ch D-8 Dozer, were the 2 highest GrNtCh Fireball blooded hounds in the world, at 43.75%. Daisy died of dehydration when I was off for Kids camp for our church and the temps were over 100 every day and my wife never watered my hounds. I saved her daughter but couldn't save her. She should have had a Hunt title but that cut that off. Those frozen semen hounds are a 48% blood relation to Fireball were as a direct son is 50%. They are so line bred it is like GrNtCh Twister and GrNtCh Fireball is their dad at the same time.
Outside of those Twister pups I had a litter here from out of that litter from Twister and a NtCh female named Music/ Kitty, I came to own that my buddies up North had bred up. She was heavy on the old dog along with the Yellow River stuff and Sawblade Fiddle. Those would be about a 35% blood relation to Fireball. Forgot about this litter until today. :-) The next highest blooded Fireball litter would be the litter the current male I have and am titling. I bred the NtCh Music / Kitty from above to the D-8 Dozer hound mentioned above. These are a 32% blood relation to Fireball. I have a young female here now that is looking real nice. She is a great niece of GrNtCh Bookem Danno, goes back to the NtCh Music / Kitty female, GrCh Daisy mentioned above, and GrNtCh Barnyard Horse Harry. I plan to breed her back to the male I just started pushing, after I breed her GrNtCh Turbo (Guitars Ghost x Jackpot Jackie) and when I do those pups will have Fireball in them like 31 times.

I needed to do that anyway just been putting it off. Outside of Me, Harry, Darin, Jeff, Rose Mary, and Joe would be about the only ones that might have a set of papers around that would have this. I'm sure there are some random folks out there that might have it but those would be the only ones I know of. So to get this info one of us was going to have to find the papers for it. My guess would be Danny Mckelsky might have more on some of these hounds also.

Had this stuff for a long time as have several others up your way and it consistently has us in the winners circle. Many on the hardwood and the plywood. Most importantly though they love competition and have drive.

"PR" Dan Langston, Won Best of Show and got a 1st Place in the Nite Hunt!

So Dan is now a Show Champion and just needs to win a few more cast wins to be a NtCh. Dan is a combination of the Fireball hounds I have been breeding down here for over 20 years with help from mainly Ed Brown and Harry Oumedian but also several others up North. Combined with all my buddies up North working together to breed in on all this Fireball blood for over 20 years also. So not only does he have a pile of Fireball blood, 32%, but also he literally has over 40 years of breeding behind him with all those people working together and striving to breed top level hunting hounds that can consistently keep them in the winners circle.
