Rules interpretation/advisor

I would like to see a separate page here on the website dedicated to UKC official stance on rules. Rather than a written advisor that maybe out of date that I have to purchase. Post ? And Ukc can give you exactly how they want a situation judged. With technology changing and people's different interpretation s of rules I think this would be an easier way to have rules properly applied.

You know i think that's the best idea I've seen for a separate forum yet. It worked well for registration, I think that would be great to have the same thing for rule questions.

Dean you are right, it is a good idea. Only trouble with it is that it would require a staff person who is well versed in rules, to spend some 75-80 % of his/her time each day doing just rule work on here, answering questions and applying the rules to the different questions posed here. From a company stand point, that would not be very cost efficient.

Now, with that said, at some point, maybe it could be that each rule is broken out and an official interpretation of such be posted on here, without the individual questions like it is in the advisor booklet. Again that would take some time also, but it would be a little more current. We can hope, but from what I know, the folks up there are over worked each day already. That you can believe. And something else along that line. Don't expect to see them running for the U S Presidency as Trump did on their on salary. Be patient. Answers come, and they are happy to help us, but they do have other things to do inside the day other than answer our questions.

Between the lessons I have learned in the woods and the rules on the back of the card that's all I have ever needed.

Who needs that!? I mean this ongoing talk about how to cheat and win is all a man could ever ask for. 🙄

When it comes to these Garmin questions, it dont matter what UKC says on the matter. A typical cast today, you have four guys staring at their Garmin and everyone of them wants to walk the way the Garmin tells them their dog went. And when four handlers all want the same thing, it matters not the least what UKC or the rule book says.

UKC is the most consistent I have seen at interpreting their rules. If you will pay attention to what the official interpretation of the rules are you will know what their answer is for the situations they have not covered.

Dean, they have exactly that every month in the COONHOUND BLOODLINES. It's in the competition section and called the coonhound adviser. The first thing I read every month.

Jim because of my old ears stand out away from the cast so I can hear my dog the garmin is a distraction for me if I haven't heard my dog in a long time I might glance at it but other than that it's in the pouch but I will be working that stop watch because that tells me a lot more about my dog than you would think.

Again Jim has the right answer!

If im on a 4 dog cast there will only be 3 garmins, I have never took my garmin out of the truck on a nite hunt but sure enjoy watching the other 3 stare at that thing all night while im looking at my watch an listening to the dogs.
