Wow, Coons Crossing Out

I just have to say I know for 100% fact this is unusual but let me tell you what I have been seeing in this area.

I have been seeing, with my own eyes, coons crossing out after I have the dog leashed up and have already found the coon. This is now 4 this year I have seen do that and I don't get to hunt but about 20 times a year or less (too much work).

I used to hunt 3-5 nights per week every week rain or shine and I might see one cross out once or twice per year with us shaking limbs blowing squallers and such. That was in the mountains in thin coon.

Down here we got more coon but these suckers have been crossing out quite often now. Is it something different? Do we have a different predator now that they are afraid of that makes them do it more? I have no clue but just the other night they got deep on a den and the coon was sitting up in a fork. It was my old dog and a pup. We were petting the pup up and BOOM the coon bailed out and off he went again with us standing there. I saw two do it last summer and watched them go like squirrells from tree to tree with our lights on them and one last spring about this time cross out from tree to tree with us shining lights on them. That's four in one years time with me hunting very little compared to when I used to hunt alot and that was without me squalling and hitting the tree and stuff.

What the heck is going on?

No I don't drink or smoke, this is a 100% legit question I have never seen coons act like this in my life and was just wondering why they would do that this much in this area.

i think its the odds

Over tnhe years you just didn't encounter the ones that do it. Maybe certain families are more active in the trees, actually iamsure of that!........ on hunts it seems most people are saying things like they are not going to jump that far from branch to branch, wellcorect they don't often jump. They go up on a higher branch, as it comes dropping down they grab another, although some doleap!

We just witnessed this last night! We watched a coon walk across a lim to the next tree over. The lim bent right into the next tree as the coon was on it. After the coon got safely to the next tree the lim sprung back up. I can almost guarantee There is no chance of getting that tree plussed if we didn't see the coon do it with our own eyes. As we were looking at the tree after and laughing about it. We both said there is no way those lims could touch. If we didn't both see the coon walk across (not jump) I would have been 100% sure they missed......
