2017 Virginia State Hunt

Greeting to all you coonhound followers its time for the Virginia State Hunt brought to you by the United Eastern Virginia Coon Hunters Association. March 31 and April 1. Held at the Halifax County fair grounds South Boston Virginia. (see our add in the March 2017 Coonhound Bloodlines) We are looking forward to seeing all our old friends and meeting new ones. We have been blessed with great weather the last few years. The entries have been great also. We try to run this hunt on the fair and square. $1000bucks for the winner of the hunt off and $ 200 for the show winner. We were the top state hunt in the nation in 2016. Lets do it again. I am sure that ive been to different hunts where there were pup casts and old timer casts. I may be wrong or it may be something like there was an non licensed part of a hunt, but I am not mistaking this for pkc.

Breed Associations can have a pup cast or hunt at their all breed Thursday night non UKC sanctioned fellowship hunt, but not at a UKC sanctioned hunt. Senior casts, however can be part of a UKC sanctioned hunt but don't have to be..

Yes sir after i thought about it, it was the lee Crawford hunt that my uncle hunted in an old timers cast. my mistake i am bringing a young dog and thought i would see if that was an option, makes sense though appreciate it.

Motels in South Boston Va. Super 8, (434) 572-8868, Fairfield-Marriott (434) 575-6000, Quality Inn (434) 572-4311, Holiday Inn Express (434)575-4000, Hudson Motel (434) 572-2959. If none of these work for you. You may try motels in Danville Va. Which is around 30 or so miles west of South Boston. Thanks Jerry
