Rule Question

4 dog cast. All 4 dogs struck and treed. Cast proceeds to the tree and all 4 dogs are seen clearly treeing and the judge orders dogs to be handled. 2 of the dogs take off right before they are leashed. What happens next?

They're minused their tree points and their strike is still open. They were not handled so you would handle it just like you would if you was 200 yards from them and they left. Only difference here is you didn't have to start the "2", you know for a fact they left.

The two that left are minus there tree point and are still open on track. The one that did get handled the tree is scored. Only can get plus point if another coon is in the tree.

Let's get Ticked

Even if they were handled...if they somehow break free and leave they are still minused. Had this question come up a few months back. The guy asking said his dog was split treed and he was told to handle his dog. He leashed his dog and tied him to a tree. They went on to score the first dog treed. When they were done his dog was gone and the leash was chewed up laying at the tree where the guy tied him. Dog gets minused for leaving the tree. The dog has to stay at the tree, handled or not, until the tree is scored.
