Batteries sticking in Marshall collars

Lately I have been having trouble with batteries sticking in my Marshall collars when I go to change them. In the past I have been able to get them out but now I have one that I can't get out. Has anyone else had this trouble? Do you know what causes it? Anybody got any good ideas how to get them out if their stuck? Thanks.

Battery

Hi Junior,
Most of the time a battery is stuck in a Marshall collar from corrosion or a battery that is not exactly the right size.
Check to see if any moisture is getting thru the end cap, very hard to detect sometimes.
Some batteries, usually cheaper off brand will swell up slightly.
To remove, you might have to put a self-tapping screw in battery and pull out with pliers
On rare occasions, l have had to completely destroy the battery to get it out, usually from a battery that had busted
If you do get the battery out, clean the battery compartment with a strong non-acid cleaner with long que-tip, a very fine emery cloth rolled up will help clean each "barrell" battery location, clean with air & let dry completely
A very, very, very light coat of petroleum jelly on a new battery will help with inserting & removing. Just use very little

David,

Thank you I will try your suggestions!! I used energizer AA's. I think there may be moisture getting in. Any ideas on stopping that?? Thank you!!!!!

Very light coat of silicone would do the trick.

Most likely the gasket at the battery cap is worn out , call marshall they will send you some new ones.

Battery cap will probably be your saviour
We will be at Batesville if your coming
Come see Dennis or me & we will fix you up
Also, if anyone needs a frequency change we do that too
