Dog starting to get aggressive
I got a 2.5 year old male dog very good coon dog. I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. I've hunting him around multiple dogs males females old dogs and pups never had in problems well about a month ago he started gettin Ill at the tree Hes never done it before. Can anyone tell me what's got this started or how to break it. I could understand if he'd been doing it since he started but it's been 2 years of hunting and never had a fight. He's got to where now he'll snap at others dogs sometimes male and female and sometimes he lets them jump all over him. If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
I will tell you I know there will be sombody get on here and say otherwise lol !! I got one here as long as I hunted him with dogs that were normal stay in one spot tree dogs he was ok but if you put him with anything that run the tree or acted stupid you would hear him tell them about it ok here it is : find the most tree running radical tree dog you can find to hunt him with and when you hear him do it or ease in with your light out and you see him do it light him up with that collar now it might set him back a bit after 4 or 5 minutes they will usually go back to treeing make them learn to back up and get out of the way you have nothing to loose because if you take him to a big hunt those boys are looking for a reason to get you out of the cast anyway spare the rod spoil the child. This has worked for me over the years the ones it did not work on the 22 shell did.
May or may NOT
After reading yadkintar post I have seen that method tried a few times with NO lasting results meaning I GARONTEE YOU IT WILL NOT TAKE MUCH TO GET HIM RIGHT BACK INTO THAT AGAIN and the other dog does not have to be Ill at all. Now I know there are people on here that will tell you they hunt dogs that wont leave the tree under any situation and that is OK, their dog they deserve to hunt whatever they like but if your friends that U hunt with don't like a dog that is that way then U are going to loose hunting buddies now that is FACT. I am hunting with a hunting buddy of 20 or more years that has a COON DOG but is ILL as a hornet man does that cause trouble hunt him by his self and some times that makes the hunting time way short. SO to answer your question find one of these guys that hunt alligator coon dogs and sell him to one of them and it sounds like there are plenty to choose from. FIX HIM NA wont happen.

H.L you missed this part :
On the ones it did not work on the 22 shell did !!
A hole box of 22 shells would not cover all the ones my method did not work on.
No I did not
yadkintar I did not miss any thing in your post and the one that I agree on hook line and sinker is that the shell will fix it for sure. In my opinion that is the only FIX period. BUT what do I know. ( NOTHING )
72 deg here so let's turn on loose tonight.

Not going to be that warm here for a couple days but I just look for excuses not to go anymore need somthing to peek my intrest lol ! No really when you trained dogs for a living as I did in the past you were 90% sure when sombody sent you a dog that there was somthing bad wrong they couldn't fix and they expected you to fix it in 30 days lol. So I tried somtimes they told me after the thirty days you couldn't fix it just get out the 22 shell lol !

I just don't understand how a dog that hasn't never been ill or mean to not one dog ever and then one day decides he's gonna be mean. But the only thing I can think is I've hunted him with my 2 females all year until about a month ago maybe he wasn't around other dogs for so long he don't like being around other dogs. Idk just wish I could get it fixed hard to get rid of one you raised from 6 weeks and put countless nights into to make him what he is
But no he hasn't been hunted alone hardly ever always been with my dogs or some buddies dogs
If you like him have him neutered. Sometimes that will change them.

I for one hate an aggressive dog but that shocker on that garmin will absolutly paralyze them I have fixed quite a few and have ended a lot of them to but here is a thought you are going to draw them at the hunts when you got a lot of $$$ on the line you don't want a sissy either at least try any good dog man can hear it when it's going on you don't have to see it if it ruins him you ain't lost nothing if he won't quit being aggressive. You are 700 yrds away zap him if you hear it.
Shock him every time you hear him start getting rowdy. If you get on the problem as soon as it starts you may fix it. If you wait around hoping he will quit or hunt him alone hoping he will forget it won't work. Don't be afraid to shock him thinking your gonna mess him up shocking him at the tree. You can't mess something up that is already worthless, not to make u mad but a mean dog is worthless in most hunters eyes. It may fix him it may not. If it does put it to a stop don't hesitate to lay it to him again the first time you think he is getting ruff again cause he will probably have to be reminded from time to time. I have fixed it but it's been with a 1 year old dog. I think the key is to fix it before it gets out of hand.

What might work for one might not work for another . Always remember that in your training . Lot of the traits are bred in these hounds . Just a reminder if you ruined him trying to fix him then he's NO good to you the way he is anyway . So really there's no lost right .Good luck in your choices .
Is he nipping or actually grabbing and pulling hair ? If it's nipping I would use the collar and use it wisely . Meaning I would start on the low setting and then advancing up . If he's pulling hair then I would put a end to it . Good luck in your choices , remember some respond differently in training .
