alpha question

every 3 or 4 times i turn my unit on it has to be reset just like it is a new one

.

Are the dog or dogs gone and you have to add them back also?

If your picking it up in one had and pushing the on button with the other you can get what your describing.
If you start it up and have a finger on the top left part of the screen then you are actually doing a master reset and it will act like your describing.

I turn it on and the first thing I have to do is calibrate the screen then add all collars back in

.

Make sure when you turn it on you are not touching the screen with any fingers.

Ok I have had a alpha for 4 years and up dated at autumn oaks and have had nothing but trouble but thanks for Bruce for the help

What kind of trouble are you having. Do you think you are holding it with a finger on the screen when you turn it on?
Having it 4 years means it probably came out with the TT 10 handheld. The newer ones that cam bundled with the TT 15 collars work a lot smoother.

As far as the updating goes, that is something you can do in about 5 minutes at home.

Mr. Boyd I understand now. I guess I read your first post wrong and thought it was resetting itself. I apologize for that. Sounds like Jrkb made you a nice offer and I am sue if you get his you will be happy with it. Yours obviously has an issue.

I probably just send it to Garmin and use their exchange/repair program. I think another one would cost you about $110

How much Birdseye do you have loaded onto the ALPHA? If you have a lot I might consider removing all of it and seeing how it does with out it loaded.

For sure it has a one year warranty. Just call Garmin at 1800-800-1020

I was assuming it was older than that.
