-- Brier Creek Chrome ? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928471436)

Briar Creek Chrome ?

Looking for information on how the dogs out of Chrome operate ,
What blood line has he crossed with best ?
Do they open good on ground or are they semi silent ?
Are they big hunters ? Do they pack or do they like to be alone?
What kind of track mouth ? Do they chew or clean tree dogs?
Thanks just looking for some information,

Swag is silent 90% of the time he Is the most consistent coondog I've ever been to the woods with he is independent he will be somewhere deep and under a coon when you cut him loose and he is loud.

Gr. Nt. Female out of Chrome

I own a 5 year old Gr.Nt female out of Chrome.

She is a 100% honest strike dog. Uses a nice mouth on track and can slam a hot coon. She will not use a lot of mouth on a hot track, but during the cold Iowa winters she uses a nice track mouth.

She is very accurate.... this is probably her strongest suite. When she trees you had better do your job and find the coon, because 97% of the time its there. Last hide season she treed 72 coon and made 3 slicks.
She has a mouth that my 12 year old son can call. He has won several cast with her and is currently leading the UKC youth Spotlight Race (Jr. Division.)

She is independent enough to split tree with her own coon, but she is smart enough to back a good dog and get part of his coon also. I have never had her back a slick tree.

One time she did come in and cover a cast of hounds that caught something on the ground. It was too tempting, but unlucky for her it was a opossum. That has only happened once if you know what I mean.

Chrome is throwing very nice hounds... two buddies of mine also own chrome pups out of different females. They are both tough as nails. In my opinion you can't go wrong with trying a chrome pup. There are good and bad in all dogs and all crosses don't work. A lot of houndsmen won't admit to that.

Finally, I know Chris Gerth is hunting a new Chrome hound for himself and Jim. Call them. They are as honest as the day is long. They will not sugar coat anything. They are straight shooters and have always been true ambassadors for our breed. They will help you with whatever it is you need.

I am here in Iowa and If I can do anything to help you out just let me know. I have been a Briar Creek supporter ever since I drew Briar Creek Snake at English Days. I was the breeder that took the female to Jim to breed that produced Zeb. I will have a Briar Creek blood in my kennel through Sue forever. She is the best female I have ever turned loose.

Chrome dog

I have one off chrome and badland witch. A litter mate to chips. She started really early 5 or 6 months old. She granded out right at 2 years old without being pushed hard. She's got an average mouth I'd say she's a honest strike dog. She's got an extremely cold nose. She's alone most of the time. The thing I like the most about her is that she has a head full of sense.

I own a Chrome female that's a year old. Her bottom side is a female out of Raisen Cain. She started easy and a very competitive female no matter what it is. She will tree them close or she will be under one somewhere! And somewhere might mean over a mile on a bad night. She is a very hard hunter.. She is still a year old has more training to go. She will be a fun one in the hunts for sure.

Chrome

I've got a prowler and Ragans rebel thunder female I'm going to breed to chrome when she comes in heat. I hear good things about him. Should be a really good cross.

Tim its a little crazy in a way. But Eric Hauschildt that owned Casper has a son Derek who now hunts a pup out of Chrome. Now you are breeding to Chrome and you owned Prowler and both Prowler and Casper were sold to the same guy.

Posted by blitz13 on 01-12-2017 08:30 PM:

Chrome

She's suppose to come in around February. Yes it has been awhile. We do need to go hunting sometime. Yes Ryan they were sold to same guy. I never really what ed to sell prowler but he caught me when I was mad at him for baying a bunch of skucks. So he talked me into selling him. It's a small world for sure. I lIke the timber valley and briar creek blood. They should b some dandys in there. I hope anyway.

Bawl chop on the ground and a nice locate chop on tree.. Put her in her first pkc hunt tonight looked real good. But she never understood why I never shot the coon out so she returned to the tree 2 more times to get me scratched! Lol What can I say I trained her to run and tree coon but not to leave them behind. By the way she did have a fault this early fall. She is not silent! She was running coon down in the corn fields this fall and killing them and leaving them before I could get her and she would be after another.

Chrome x Freckles cross ??

Was wondering if anyone had or knew of a pup doing anything out of this cross. They would be about 18 months old by now. Definitely a well bred litter. Just curious if anyone knew of a pup from this cross?
