Rumor

Just read on FB where a guy posted that UKC was gonna allow Grandnites only to hunt for money on Friday and Saturday night. $30 entry $5 goes to the club $2.00 to UKC and that leaves $23 to split

Don't you think they would have posted that on here?? Unless he's talking about mini slams but I don't know how they break the payouts down on those.

Grandnites have nothing to hunt in at local hunts unless it's an RQE $5.00 is better than no money. Might bring more ppl out to hunt

I don't get it. I didn't think Grandnites had anything to hunt for in local hunts once finished

Federation points, Missouri coonhunters federation. There was a cast of grands at about every one of our hunts. And they still bring them to the club hunts to hunt for money but the club makes a good lick on those as well. Is hunting just to hunt that unheard of down there?

most guys don't wanna waste their time hunting a Grandnite and not receive anything for it like reg or Nitech do

This is true. We started this at deer creek coonhunters in greencastle, indiana. On our regular hunts, you can bring your grands, pay 30 dollars and hunt for the entry money and performance money. It gets the grand nite dogs back in play at the local level. Even some of the other local clubs around us are starting to do this.

Well you are probably right bout wasting their time hunting for nothing, but here is what I don't understand why wouldn't they just go to the woods, drop a couple hundreds in the pot and hunt for it?

When Doug talked with Allen about this, he said it was up to the club if we wanted to do something like this. We talked about it cause a lot of us have grands and no young dogs hunt ready.(at our club) any club can do this if they choose.

Why in the world would ukc not put this on the board if there was a chance to draw more dogs I'd say not very many clubs know this and I'd say none in my area.

I agree. I imagine if most clubs in Alabama knew about this they would have more Grandnites turn out then they did Nitech and reg cast combined

So the purse would be $23 per dog. 4 dog cast gives ya $92. Does the cast winner get that ?

Just look in your rulebook, page11, clubs can give out most any award they choose ,money, trophies or no awards, just the little yellow slip. But the clubs still have to send UKC 2 dollars per dog recording fees.and pay the license for the event, the way I read it anyway. I think its been like this for awhile, somebody just figured it out.---lol
