Stud question

I'm new to coon hunting and have bought a nite champion female off of booger hollow mojo. If I decide to breed her what stud out there is the best dog to cross with her for good pups and also has the most wanted pups so that I don't have to keep them all. I would maybe keep one. Just don't want to get stuck with a litter of pups and make sure they are desired? Thanks for the input

.

Stud dogs come from different genetics. The genetics are different and the dogs bring different things to breeding. If your in it for your own personal dogs you have to first figure out what type hound you want and find a sire with those genetics that throws the type of dogs you like. That is the best way to breed. There are other ways but I will let the other guys handle those.

Thanks Bruce. I guess I should have asked "what studs out there have the most interest to people to own a pup out of?" Which dog is the so to speak "dog of now--the hot stud"

So are you looking for a quick buck or to repoduce coondogs? --- looks as though your looking to breed for $$$ from the above quote.

Just because it is a "hot stud" does not mean it will cross well with your bitch. Like Bruce mentioned - different genetics is to be considered.

But if your looking to "sell and make money" breeding, look in Bloodlines.
