It's Sunday but still thinking of Veterans Day
After watching the news all weekend and seeing all the young people marching and in my opinion disgracing our country and their own families. I am just amazed at what our Country has become. I must live in a cave because what I seen on TV is not the people I spend my life with.
There has to be a lot of people on here that has Son's, Daughters, Husbands, Wives and family in the military. Our Military is something to be proud of. The Flag is something to be proud of because the Military has given us freedom and our Flag stands for that Freedom.
I never served our country in the Military but have many Family and Friends that have. They are people to be very proud of. I have a nephew that I watched grow up as a skinny worm and went into the military to end up being a pilot and then Base Commander before retiring and flying for private airline. I have a dear friend that just retired as a very high ranking Fl National Guard Officer. I have went with him to several military gatherings. One I remember very clearly was last year in St. Augustine when a Military Band came from Miami and visited up here. They played and sang a lot of military songs and the area was filled with military people from the very young to the very old and you could see the pride on their faces no matter what their rank was. To many people, sitting or standing around a courtyard listening to this music would be lame. Let me tell you, it fills you with pride.
Back to these young people marching that are lost in America. I think about them and then think of the equally young men and women serving this county at Military bases and on Ships around the world. Just think about an Aircraft Carrier with its 5,000 person crew. Those massive ships are kept going by many people the same age as all these lost protestors. We have a lot of good young men and women in this Country. We also have a lot of good young men and women not in the military. It is just a shame the few get all the attention and give this country a Black Eye.
God Bless America!

Bruce this is a very serious subject ! Because of the envirment I grew up in when I was younger I had anger issues. My grand father was killed in the battle of the bulge I never knew him. His 4 brothers served in world war 2 in different branches not because they had to because they wanted to those to this day are the most honorable men I ever knew they took turns raising me they did not want a pat on the back for what they did they did not even want to talk about it but believe me they knew how to handle me and if they told you somthing put it in the bank their word was good and their hand shake was good as a signature I often think of them especially uncle mutt my aunties said I was like him a mess always had somthing going lol!
Bruce I too am not sure what is going on in our country. I wish I new how to help these people who are protesting/rioting. We need a united country but right now I feel like there are a whole lot of people I don't understand and I don't think they would understand me. I for one am extremely proud of the USA and it's military. My brother was killed in Viet Nam and as you know that was not a popular war. I just pray that God will bring us together as a country.

Preacher Tom I have a theory and it is only my theory but one that explains it in my mind. It is a generational thing and along with parents being more liberal and allowing the anything goes type of attitude. Our Government has done that also.
We have to make some harsh changes which gives the young people hope and dreams of working for their future, not getting it for free. I feel we have lost a generation and it isn't going to be easy to get them back but with the right values in this Country the generation behind them may step up and be more realistic to what life is all about and that working for what your receive isn't a bad thing. Having morals, ethics and most of all God in your Life is the path to what we as Americans should want and work towards.
I can tell you how I plan on helping. The recent change in the path of our Government isn't going to be a success over night and it isn't going to be a success without each of us helping out. Because I feel we are on the right track now, I am going to make sure I am on the right track and instead of walking away in discuss and shaking my head in wonderment. I am going to do what I can with the people I meet to help them and demonstrate to them that together, believing in GOD and doing what is right in AMERICA that we can rise up from where we are today.
Let me clarify. The generation of kids we have lost are mainly kids that their parents live in large cities and have forsaken them to fend for themselves. We have a bunch of wonderful young men and women in this country. Now we need to make sure we give them something to work towards and be proud of. That is the laws our Government puts in place for us and the freedom to achieve what you want to in America.

This is what you get when you turn your back on god
Well said , it is a shame !!!!
I served my country over 30 years ago.
I continue to help veterans on a daily basis.
We do need the LORD in our lives !!!!!!
Alot of folks have come to worship
money more than GOD......................
A man's word used to mean something.
Now you can hardly believe much of what
some folks say... alot of bad mouthing and
backstabbing and just flat out lying. ...
But , I believe there are way more good
people out there. ......

Veterans day
You know I read a lot of things about the flag burning, protest, and other things I find apauling such as the whole same sex marriage, transgender bathrooms. I have been deployed 6 times while in the military. None of those issues were the reason I went, fought, or defended. Most of are the result of our supreme court rulings. The flag burning has been around for a long time, but I can say this if you burned a flag in the 70's you probably took a butt whipping. But it happened back then too.I
Can say that I am proud of the things I have done in the military and the things I have accomplished. But I can also say that I am not to proud of some of the things our govt has thought was best for the people of this country, and some of the decisions the supreme court has made.

I served and the only thing I regret is at the time I was a better soldier than a family man. Never was or have been abusive or anything I just put the job first. I liked the military in Iraq hated it state side. I think everyone who is caught burning a flag should be deported to some of the lovely spots i vacationed to at Uncle Sam's request. I was stopped lost for almost a year after obama was elected and the changes that were made to the Army in that time was more than i would have ever imagined. I hope and pray things change for the better.
Veterans Day!
Let me begin by thanking all those who served our great country and those who have gone before us doing the same. I lost my hero about 21 years ago, my dad. He served in WWII and was an inspiration to me in everything from just plain ole morals to every day behavior and believe me, I knew right from wrong! I served two different stays in the US Air Force, first was 4 years and then 7 1/2 years before I decided to get out but I still think about it almost each day. All the wonderful folks that I served with, all the good and bad times we served together and I don't regret one second! Yesterday in church, all the Veterans were invited to come forward and state a few things about their stay in the military and it was capped off with one of our young 16 year old girls singing the national anthem. I still get choked up when I here it and to top off a great moment, that little girl says she is considering joining the Air Force when she graduates! What a great moment! I have come full circle in my life, I have been a Veterans Representative for the state of WV for the last 4 years. I work with Veterans who are down and out such as homelessness, jobless, health issues, PTSD, just any Veteran that is having problems finding work. It is very gratifying work but I only have a couple more weeks before I retire and then someone else will take over. There should be NO reason for a homeless Veteran in our country but you wouldn't believe how many there are. We are spending Billions of $$$ on illegals in this country and helping out of country problems and still have homeless Veterans right here at home. Just BURNS ME UP to no end! Folks we need to get involved, take some of these young kids hunting, I do my part every time I get a chance. All these protesters need to get a life, that's why they're protesting, they don't have anything better to occupy themselves with. And as said before, GET GOD BACK IN OUR COUNTRY, first and foremost!
