Ok I call BS !!

There more coonhunters up north than in the south !! Bull freakin corn !! Only reason you don't see them competing as much in the Yankee hunts because they can't afford it cost vs distance !! Plus y'all think we talk funny y'all the ones that talk funny ( yous guys want to cut loose in the sooley ) lol!!

If you count possum dogs, squirrel dogs, deer dogs, the South is probably close to the North in numbers of houndsmen. If you are just counting coondogs, it ain't even close.

Awww come on Jim you can put 5 indianas in Texas maybe we can get ukc to tell us how many coondogs are redgistered in each state I would like to know.

I think you can put 6 Indiana's in Texas but if you want to compare the number of coondogs in Indiana to the number in Texas, well, like I said before, not even close.

Yadkintar I believe Jim is one hundred percent correct on this one. You put a pin on the map say at Peru IN and draw a 200 mile radius on that map and you wii encompass a tremendous number of hounds and houndsmen.

Funny how a lot of us however have a strong connection to the south. My family migrated from eastern KY and brought the hound hunting affliction with them. As is the case with many of us up here in the Midwest.

And from what I've seen of the country around Drift, KY where my family came from I'm darn glad they headed north. I belive I'd quit if I had to hunt that country!!

I'll take these flatland patch woods surrounded by cornfields any day!!

Probably more comp hunters in the north but not more pleasure hunters. Most the guys around me won't go to a comp hunt.

Look at the dogs at the zone in ad a yadkin then look at the zone in legrand. Both are exactly the same distance for me but guess what, way better hunting in Iowa so if a guy has an option, why would he wanna go to Oklahoma or Texas to hunt? We have hogs, dillars, and all kinds of trash here too. My dog is used to it. But cooler weather, tons of coon, easy walkin,no brainer.

They got Bigfoot we got chupracombras !!

My dog will bump both but usually falls off on a possum.

Chupracombras pretty good race till they swim back accross the river they are good at that for some reason !
